I’ve long thought Joseph Conrad’s ”Heart of Darkness” to be the greatest novella ever written. The abstract, verdant chaos of this painting attempts to capture the mood of Conrad’s work.
A writer and artist (she does the cover paintings for her books), Bethany A. Beeler was born and raised in the Pittsburgh, PA area. After college, she settled in Texas for the next 37 years with her wife Pamalyn, raising three children, and mayoring the city of Krum, TX. She's been a professor, teacher, and tech writer. Her favorite artists and authors include Van Gogh, James Turrell, Caravaggio, J.R.R. Tolkien, Jenny Lawson, C.S. Lewis, Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Joseph Conrad, and Robert Penn Warren. She now lives in Colorado with Pam, and three cats of disaster, Big'uns, Frank, and Possum.
